Caring for solid gold
Solid 14K will not tarnish. Keeping it bright is mostly about keeping it clean.
Everyday habits
- Remove before swimming, showering or exercising.
- Apply perfume and lotion before putting your jewelry on.
- Polish gently with the included JOUNI cloth.
- Store flat in the pouch provided, away from direct sunlight.
Cleaning at home
Warm water, a drop of unscented washing-up liquid and a soft toothbrush is all that is needed. Work gently around settings, rinse, and dry fully with a lint-free cloth before putting the piece away. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners on anything with pavé.
Stones and settings
Once a year, run a fingertip over each setting. If a stone moves or a prong catches, stop wearing the piece and send it to us — a loose prong is a ten-minute fix at the bench and a lost stone otherwise.
Storage
Store pieces flat and separately. Gold is soft enough that chains scratch rings and rings scratch chains when they share a dish. The pouch in your JOUNI box is there for exactly this.
